Pressures from production costs, market uncertainty, and structural industrial issues have forced farmers\u2014particularly in the broiler sector\u2014to endure difficult conditions over the past several years.<\/p>\n
The General Chairperson of PINSAR Indonesia, Singgih Januratmoko, SKH, MM<\/b>, highlighted the long journey of smallholder farmers who, for more than a decade, have been under heavy pressure due to oversupply and high market volatility. According to him, these conditions have been the primary factors causing many smallholder farmers to lose their business sustainability.<\/p>\n
Singgih considers the arrival of the MBG (Free Nutritious Meals) Program<\/b> to be a pivotal moment and a breath of “fresh oxygen” for the small-scale poultry industry. The program is deemed capable of providing market certainty through the massive absorption of chicken meat and eggs, thereby opening opportunities for economic recovery at the farmer level.<\/p>\n “For a long time, farmers have been in a highly volatile situation. With the MBG program, there is now clear demand certainty. This is a major opportunity for smallholder farmers to once again enjoy the fruits of their hard work,” Singgih stated on Monday (19\/1\/2026).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Furthermore, he emphasized that PINSAR Indonesia<\/b> plays a strategic role in safeguarding the national supply of animal protein to support the program’s success. At the same time, strengthening the downstreaming of poultry products remains a key agenda to ensure that the economic benefits of the poultry industry are distributed more equitably down to the smallholder farmer level.<\/p>\n\n
