POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta<\/strong> \u2013 Synergy between local governments and the poultry industry is being strengthened to support national food security through feed innovation, technology adoption, and poultry farming development.<\/h6>\n
PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI)<\/strong> received a working visit from the Deputy Regent of Blitar, Beky Herdihansah<\/strong>, along with his delegation, on Monday (January 12) at CPI\u2019s feedmill facility in Krian, East Java<\/strong>. The visit served as a strategic momentum to reinforce collaboration between local governments and the national poultry industry in supporting food security, particularly in the poultry sector.<\/h6>\n
The delegation was welcomed by Benyamin Limi<\/strong>, Regional Head of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia \u2013 East Java, together with CPI management and the company\u2019s strategic partners. Representatives from local government, associations, farmer cooperatives, and poultry business partners were also in attendance.<\/h6>\n
\"\"In his remarks, Benyamin Limi stated that East Java, especially Blitar Regency, plays a central role in the national poultry industry<\/strong>.<\/h6>\n

\u201cCPI\u2019s core feed business is indeed based in Blitar, East Java, and Blitar is one of the main pillars of the national layer chicken population. Therefore, synergy with local governments is the key to industry sustainability. Together, we are moving toward food security in 2026 and beyond,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The visit is expected to further strengthen cross-sector collaboration in realizing national food security and improving farmer welfare, particularly in East Java.<\/h6>\n

\u201cCPI is committed to continuously being a partner to the government and farmers in facing future challenges in the poultry industry, through systems that are more modern, efficient, and sustainable,\u201d Benyamin Limi concluded.<\/p>\n

East Java as a Pillar of National Food Security<\/strong><\/h6>\n
Blitar Regency, known as the Land of Kings<\/em>, continues to show positive regional development trends. This progress is reflected in the growth of several strategic sectors, including livestock farming. Currently, the population of commercial laying hens in Blitar Regency exceeds 17 million birds<\/strong>, positioning the region as one of Indonesia\u2019s main egg production centers.<\/h6>\n
The same presentation also highlighted East Java\u2019s contribution to national food security<\/strong>. The province is one of the main producers of livestock commodities, with approximately 3,618 layer farmers<\/strong> and a significant contribution to national egg and chicken meat production. The high density of livestock populations on Java Island\u2014particularly in East Java\u2014underscores the region\u2019s role as the epicenter of Indonesia\u2019s poultry industry.<\/h6>\n
Deputy Regent of Blitar Beky Herdihansah<\/strong> expressed his appreciation to PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia for its role as a strategic partner to both the government and farmers.<\/h6>\n

\u201cBlitar Regency is one of the largest layer chicken centers in Indonesia. CPI\u2019s presence greatly helps ensure feed availability and the sustainability of farmers\u2019 businesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also reaffirmed the Blitar Regency Government\u2019s commitment to supporting a conducive business climate and encouraging collaboration between government, industry, and farmers to maintain production stability and farmer welfare.<\/h6>\n

Integrated Support and Human Resource Development<\/strong><\/h6>\n
Bhinuko<\/strong>, General Manager of the Technical Information System at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI) East Java, explained that CPI plays an active role in national livestock development by providing integrated livestock production facilities<\/strong>. These services include layer and broiler DOCs, feed, medicines and vaccines, as well as poultry equipment, all offered under a one-stop shopping<\/strong> concept.<\/h6>\n
Beyond production inputs, CPI places strong emphasis on technical assistance and human resource capacity building<\/strong>. Programs range from training and cultivation seminars, on-site technical assistance, to collaborations with universities through scholarships, internship programs, and factory visits.<\/h6>\n
CPI has also recorded success in exporting DOCs to Singapore<\/strong>, with more than 14 shipments<\/strong> to date.<\/h6>\n

\u201cSingapore has very strict standards. They even send teams to inspect the farms before export approval,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

In addition, CPI actively provides technical assistance, cultivation seminars, and modern poultry house designs incorporating three-zone biosecurity systems<\/strong>. Competent field teams, particularly in key production centers such as Blitar, serve as the frontline in farmer assistance.<\/h6>\n
Human resource strengthening remains a serious focus. CPI is involved in scholarship programs, factory visits, CSR initiatives, and the Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA)<\/strong> program, which provides intensive training and exposure to modern livestock technology, including overseas programs. At the same time, campaigns promoting nutritional awareness through egg consumption continue to be intensified in collaboration with local governments and related institutions. The goal is to increase national per capita consumption of animal protein through improved nutrition literacy.<\/h6>\n
Bhinuko emphasized that competition in the egg market today is no longer based solely on production volume, but also on product quality<\/strong>. Industry players are racing to produce premium eggs with higher market value.<\/h6>\n

\u201cCPI has developed feed containing probiotics, making us the first company to produce probiotic-based feed,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Through probiotic feed innovation, CPI is committed to helping farmers produce higher-quality eggs more efficiently and competitively in the premium market segment.<\/h6>\n
\"\"On this occasion, CPI invited Beky Herdihansah and his delegation to taste the difference between eggs produced by chickens fed with probiotic feed. CPI also encourages farmers to strengthen product branding, including through Veterinary Control Number (NKV) certification<\/strong>, which is an important requirement for entering modern retail markets and increasing egg value.<\/h6>\n
This visit aligns with the government\u2019s focus in the 2026 State Budget Draft (RAPBN)<\/strong>, which prioritizes food sovereignty, superior human resource development, industrialization, and investment acceleration.
