POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta \u2013 The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), together with feed industry players in the national poultry sector, continues to strengthen coordination to maintain industry stability amid recent price fluctuations. These efforts were discussed during the Feed Price Stabilization Coordination Meeting involving the Indonesian Feed Producers Association (GPMT) and related business actors, held virtually on Friday (8\/5\/2026).<\/h6>\n
Director of Feed at the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health (Ditjen PKH), Tri Melasari, stated that the government continues to monitor feed price developments amid dynamic market conditions. According to her, increases in feed prices need to be controlled to avoid placing greater pressure on smallholder farmers.<\/h6>\n
\u201cIf feed price increases are not necessary, then they should not be implemented. However, if increases are unavoidable, they must be controlled and should not continue indefinitely,\u201d said Tri.<\/h6>\n
She explained that current conditions are quite difficult for farmers because upstream production costs have increased, while the selling prices of livestock products such as eggs and live chickens have actually weakened.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThis is what concerns us: inputs are rising while outputs are falling. If prices do not improve, smallholder farmers will be the most severely affected,\u201d she stressed.<\/h6>\n
Chairwoman of the Indonesian Feed Producers Association (GPMT), Tevi Melviana, stated that the feed industry understands the challenges currently faced by farmers and supports the government\u2019s stabilization efforts. According to her, coordination among business players is essential to maintain the balance of the national poultry industry amid dynamic market conditions.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThe current industry situation is indeed quite dynamic and differs from one company to another. However, we support the government\u2019s efforts to maintain stability and hope that livestock product prices will improve again so that poultry businesses can continue operating in a healthy manner,\u201d said Tevi.<\/h6>\n
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that it will continue strengthening cross-sector coordination to maintain the stability of the national poultry industry, including monitoring price developments and field conditions.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThe government continues to monitor price developments and conditions in the field so that the balance between the interests of farmers, business actors, and the public can be maintained. We hope all parties will continue to maintain synergy so that the national poultry industry remains strong,\u201d Tri concluded.<\/h6>\n
