There is a small childhood memory that has never truly left Park Seong Woo<\/span><\/span>. Every time his father took him to the market, young Park always came home with a valuable lesson.<\/h6>\n
\u201cSince I was little, I loved going to the market with my father. Every time we went there, he would slip some coins into my hand and say, \u2018Try buying what you want yourself \u2014 as much as possible, for the cheapest price possible.\u2019 While other children had things bought directly for them by their parents, I had to go on my own, bargain, and choose,\u201d said the President Director of PT Farmsco Feed Indonesia<\/span><\/span> during an interview with Poultry Indonesia reporters at the Farmsco main office in BSD on Monday (20\/4).<\/h6>\n
From those experiences, he learned how to buy wisely. His understanding of economic principles began to take shape early in life and stayed with him into adulthood. Those lessons also shaped his approach to work, where efficiency and economic value always become the foundation of every decision.<\/h6>\n
\"\"Three Decades with Farmsco<\/h6>\n
The trust that eventually led him to become President Director of Farmsco Indonesia was not built solely on his meticulousness, but on something far more fundamental \u2014 the life principles he has held since the beginning: honesty and hard work.<\/h6>\n
\u201cI always try to practice both, and that is what has kept me in this company for 34 years until I was eventually entrusted to become president director,\u201d he said.<\/h6>\n
In 1992, Park Seong Woo joined Farmsco as a new employee. A mechanical engineering graduate, he began his career handling the company\u2019s facility investments. He designed and built feed mills, overseeing infrastructure projects from the ground up until they became operational.<\/h6>\n
One of the major projects he handled was the construction of a feed mill in Anseong, South Korea, which remains operational today. Trust came gradually, along with the tangible results he delivered, until he eventually led the operations of four feed mills nationwide.<\/h6>\n
However, amid those achievements, a new concern emerged.<\/h6>\n
\u201cFacilities that had been designed and built properly were often not utilized optimally in the field. That made me think about trying to raise livestock myself and manage operations directly,\u201d he explained.<\/h6>\n
That decision pushed him out of his comfort zone as an engineer. Greater opportunities emerged when the Chairman of Farmsco Korea invited him to help develop high-tech pig farms. For nearly a decade, he was involved in building around ten modern livestock farms.<\/h6>\n
The journey, he admitted, was far from smooth. Mistake after mistake became part of the process, and harsh reprimands from superiors were common. Yet Park never avoided them \u2014 instead, he treated them as opportunities to learn.<\/h6>\n
\u201cIn the beginning, I made many mistakes and was often scolded. But that is where I learned how large companies are built. Trust is something that is built, not simply given from the start,\u201d he emphasized.<\/h6>\n
Growing Through Change<\/h6>\n
Leading in one\u2019s own country is already challenging. For Park, leading in a foreign country while the business was struggling presented a completely different test.<\/h6>\n
The COVID-19 pandemic left deep scars across many business sectors, including the feed and livestock industry. During the eight years before his arrival, Farmsco Indonesia faced various difficulties and less-than-optimal growth. He was assigned to Indonesia to help improve the situation.<\/h6>\n
