POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta \u2013 PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk (Malindo) presented its financial performance report and business strategy during the Annual and Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS and EGMS) held in Jakarta on Monday (April 25, 2026). Amid ongoing global pressures affecting the poultry industry, the company recorded several positive achievements and prepared expansion plans for this year.<\/h6>\n
Throughout 2025, Malindo posted net sales of Rp12.69 trillion, an increase of 1.52% compared to Rp12.50 trillion in 2024. The sales growth was mainly supported by an 18.75% increase in broiler chicken sales, a 12.94% rise in processed food sales, and a 6.12% increase in other business segments.<\/h6>\n
In terms of profitability, net profit in 2025 reached Rp393.59 billion, down 19.34% from Rp487.96 billion in 2024. The decline was in line with pressure on gross profit, which fell 16.96% to Rp1.29 trillion, as well as operating profit, which decreased 25.02% to Rp569.06 billion. From the balance sheet perspective, total assets grew 6.03% to Rp5.70 trillion, while total equity stood at Rp2.88 trillion.<\/h6>\n
Entering 2026, the company\u2019s performance showed signs of recovery. In the first quarter, net sales reached Rp3.69 trillion, up 16.61% compared to the same period last year. The DOC (day-old chick) segment recorded the highest growth, soaring 69.20% from Rp477.77 billion to Rp808.39 billion. Feed sales also grew 10.92%, while processed food sales increased 16.81%.<\/h6>\n
Most notably, net profit in the first quarter of 2026 surged 96.05% to Rp123.28 billion, from Rp62.88 billion in the first quarter of 2025. The main driver behind this increase was the stability of DOC and broiler prices in the market.<\/h6>\n
Malindo Director Rudy Hartono expressed optimism regarding the company\u2019s overall performance in 2026 during the Q&A session. Although he acknowledged that the company still faces several challenges, including fluctuations in live bird and DOC prices, volatility in raw material prices, and the weakening rupiah exchange rate that has pushed up soybean meal (SBM) prices as a key raw material.<\/h6>\n
\u201cWe are very optimistic that 2026 will be a good year. Q1 was much better compared to Q1 last year, and we hope Q2 will also improve, especially since the government is very supportive of the industry\u2019s condition,\u201d he said.<\/h6>\n
During the AGMS, shareholders approved a dividend distribution of Rp52 per share. The company also allocated capital expenditure (capex) of Rp700\u2013800 billion for 2026, which will be focused on feedmill development, breeding, and the broiler sector.<\/h6>\n
One of the main projects is the construction of a new feedmill in Lampung, targeted for completion in the third quarter of 2026. By mid-year, capex realization had reached around 30%.<\/h6>\n
\u201cExternal conditions are indeed changing very rapidly, but we are grateful that the government remains quite supportive of the industry. Therefore, overall, we remain optimistic about the future development of the poultry industry,\u201d Rudy concluded.<\/h6>\n
On the same occasion, Malindo Director Rewin Hanrahan stated that the company has responded to various pressures through a series of efficiency measures. One of these initiatives is the transition to renewable energy through the installation of solar panels at several operational units.<\/h6>\n
\u201cWhen talking about costs, energy is the biggest component. That is why we have started installing solar panels in several of our business units to reduce operational costs. In addition, we are also encouraging automation and digitalization of business processes,\u201d he said.<\/h6>\n
Regarding the impact of global geopolitical tensions, including the issue surrounding the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Rewin assessed that the effect on the company\u2019s raw material supply remains relatively limited.<\/h6>\n
Rewin also highlighted the positive impact of the government\u2019s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. According to him, the program has helped maintain the balance between supply and demand in the poultry market, resulting in more stable prices, particularly for smallholder farmers and MSME partners working with the company.<\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
