POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta<\/strong> \u2013 Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) is strengthening the governance of the national feed industry by enhancing its certification and monitoring system. The initiative aims to ensure that feed products circulating in the market meet quality and safety standards while providing greater regulatory certainty for businesses in carrying out their production activities.<\/h6>\n
The initiative is formalized through the Director General of Livestock and Animal Health Decree No. 7101\/KPTS\/PK.150\/F\/06\/2026<\/strong> concerning the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Good Feed Manufacturing Practice (GFMP) Certification and Feed Registration<\/strong>. The regulation establishes a new reference for feed certification and registration with more standardized and measurable procedures.<\/h6>\n
Director of Feed at the Ministry of Agriculture, Tri Melasari<\/strong>, said the feed industry plays a strategic role in supporting livestock productivity. Therefore, the government is committed to ensuring that the certification system operates effectively without creating additional burdens for businesses.<\/h6>\n
“Through this regulation, the implementation of Good Feed Manufacturing Practice (GFMP) certification and feed registration is expected to be carried out consistently by all business operators,”<\/em> Tri Melasari said on Monday (July 14).<\/h6>\n
According to Tri, the issuance of the new guideline follows Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 34 of 2025<\/strong> on the implementation of risk-based business licensing. Under this approach, licensing procedures become clearer while oversight of feed quality and safety can continue to be carried out effectively.<\/h6>\n
She emphasized that GFMP certification and feed registration are not merely administrative requirements but also serve as essential instruments for ensuring the quality of products used by livestock producers.<\/h6>\n
“In addition, the government can oversee the entire production process so that if any non-compliance is identified, appropriate guidance and corrective actions can be implemented consistently,”<\/em> she explained.<\/h6>\n
Tri added that the consistent implementation of production standards will strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s feed industry while maintaining market confidence in feed products available domestically.<\/h6>\n
\"\"Meanwhile, Iqbal Alim<\/strong>, Head of the Feed Quality Testing and Certification Center (BPMSP) Bekasi<\/strong>, said the revised guideline is also intended to improve services for industry players without compromising the government’s oversight function.<\/h6>\n
One of the key changes is the expansion of the mechanism for issuing the Feed Registration Number (NPP)<\/strong>. Previously, laboratory testing was conducted primarily by government laboratories. Under the new policy, accredited and independent private laboratories will also be authorized to participate in the issuance of NPPs. This measure is expected to accelerate the registration process while maintaining the credibility of testing results through the existing supervisory framework.<\/h6>\n
As part of the implementation, the Ministry of Agriculture has also introduced a transition period for businesses that are still adjusting their product packaging to comply with the new requirements. The transition is intended to provide sufficient time for the industry to adapt without disrupting feed production or distribution.<\/h6>\n
Through these improvements to the certification and oversight system, the government expects to further enhance the quality of Indonesia’s feed supply, thereby supporting higher livestock productivity and strengthening the competitiveness of the country’s poultry and livestock industries as a whole.<\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
