POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta \u2013 Cooperation between Indonesia and China in the agriculture and livestock sectors is set to expand further through the China International Agricultural Cooperation Expo 2026. The exhibition will take place on December 10\u201312, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten. Ahead of the expo, a Soft Launching and Business Networking Lunch Meeting was held in Jakarta on October 1, 2026, bringing together Indonesian livestock associations and industry players with representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).<\/h6>\n
Chief Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade\u2019s Office in Indonesia, Niu Liangliang, said the expo would not focus solely on product exhibitions but would also bring business players together to establish partnerships.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThe Global International Agricultural Cooperation Expo is not merely an exhibition, but also a platform for trade and investment matchmaking, technological cooperation, market and policy information exchange, and business visits,\u201d Niu said.<\/h6>\n
According to Niu, Indonesia is one of the countries included in the international agricultural cooperation programs being developed in 2026. Through the expo, Indonesian and Chinese companies are expected to identify more concrete business opportunities.<\/h6>\n
Secretary General of IICPC, Qhingchang Duan, explained that the livestock sector would be one of the exhibition\u2019s main focuses. Products and technologies on display will include livestock equipment, breeding, feed and feed additives, animal health, vaccines, veterinary products, and processing technologies.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThis event is not merely an exhibition but a business cooperation platform. It will feature business matching between Chinese companies and Indonesian business partners, alongside technological cooperation, trade, and investment,\u201d Duan explained.<\/h6>\n
The expo will occupy an area of approximately 5,000 square meters and is expected to attract more than 100 companies. Participants will come from China, Indonesia, and ASEAN countries, including companies, industry associations, buyers, and research institutions. In addition to livestock and poultry, the exhibition will also cover eggs and food processing, smart agriculture, agricultural machinery, and other agricultural sectors.<\/h6>\n
From the perspective of Indonesia\u2019s livestock industry, the forum provides an opportunity to communicate the needs and challenges currently faced by industry players. Rector of Universitas Insan Cita Indonesia (UICI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saefuddin, M.Sc., noted that future livestock development must take into account resource efficiency, climate change, and growing sustainability requirements.<\/h6>\n
\u201cOne of the key opportunities in livestock transformation is the adoption of precision agriculture and smart farming concepts. Technology enables livestock operations to be managed based on data, allowing decisions to be made in a more targeted and informed manner,\u201d he explained.<\/h6>\n
Meanwhile, Tika Kartika, Head of the Marketing Group at the Directorate of Livestock Product Downstreaming, Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health Services, Ministry of Agriculture, said the forum could serve as a platform to connect the needs of Indonesia\u2019s livestock industry with technology and investment from China.<\/h6>\n
\u201cThis is not merely a forum for exchanging information, but also a strategic momentum to strengthen economic relations, expand business networks, and establish more concrete partnerships between Indonesian and Chinese business players, particularly in the livestock sector and livestock product industries,\u201d Tika said.<\/h6>\n
The need for cooperation was also highlighted by industry players and associations. Cecep Wahyudin, Deputy Chairman for Livestock Affairs at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), stated that Kadin was ready to support cooperation with Chinese livestock stakeholders to strengthen national food security.<\/h6>\n
Ateng Sutisna, Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Sheep and Goat Farmers (HPDKI), expressed hope that cooperation with Chinese associations and business players would help address members\u2019 needs, particularly in genetic improvement, livestock management technology, livestock product processing, and financing.<\/h6>\n
Meanwhile, Siska Retno of Global Dairy Alami (GDA) highlighted the needs of Indonesia\u2019s growing dairy industry. GDA is currently expanding its production capacity through the development of an integrated dairy farm.<\/h6>\n
