Berbagai cara ditempuh untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ayam kampung, salah satunya pemberian pakan yang berkualitas. Formula pakan yang bersumber dari bahan pakan lokal memiliki keunggulan mudah didapat, harga murah, dan mengandung nutrien fungsional yang sangat diperlukan untuk pembuatan pakan ayam kampung.&nbsp;<\/h6>\n<blockquote class=\"td_pull_quote td_pull_center\"><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Penggunaan sinbiotik jauh lebih efisien daripada penggunaan probiotik maupun prebiotik secara terpisah<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h6>Pakan fungsional adalah pakan yang memiliki kandungan zat aktif selain nutrien. Salah satunya adalah pakan sinbiotik <em>mixed culture.<\/em> Sinbiotik <em>mixed culture<\/em> berasal dari campuran probiotik kubis terfermentasi dan prebiotik <em>wheat pollard<\/em> yang difermentasi selama 4 hari dalam suasana anaerob fakultatif. Sinbiotik merupakan produk fermentasi yang berasal dari peningkatan kemampuan bakteri probiotik yang disebabkan tersedianya substrat (prebiotik) untuk fermentasi.<\/h6>\n<h6>Penggunaan sinbiotik jauh lebih efisien daripada penggunaan probiotik maupun prebiotik secara terpisah. Pemberian ransum sinbiotik sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan, daya tahan tubuh dan komposisi mikroflora menguntungkan pada ayam. Pemberian sinbiotik berpengaruh terhadap kondisi mikroflora usus seperti meningkatnya jumlah bakteri asam laktat, menurunnya jumlah <em>Escherichia colli<\/em>, meningkatkan tinggi dan lebar vili usus dan meningkatkan kinerja usus sehingga penyerapan nutrien lebih optimal.<\/h6>\n<h6>Sinbiotik <em>mixed culture<\/em> mengandung kombinasi mikroorganisme probiotik dari kubis terfermentasi (<em>Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Rhizopus oryzae<\/em> dan <em>Saccharomyces cerevise) <\/em>maupun kombinasi serat pangan seperti arabinosa, manosa, rafinosa dan <em>resistance starch<\/em> yang terkandung dalam <em>wheat pollard<\/em> terolah sebagai prebiotik. Peningkatan pertambahan bobot badan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas ransum yang diberikan.
