Mineral dapat digolongkan menjadi dua berdasarkan jumlah kebutuhan di dalam tubuh, yaitu makro mineral dan mikro mineral. Makro mineral umumnya lebih banyak dibutuhkan tubuh dan jumlah yang diberikan juga relatif sangat besar, seperti: potassium, sodium, klorin, kalsium dan fosfor. Sedangkan mikro mineral dibutuhkan dalam jumlah relatif kecil dan diberikan dalam jumlah sangat sedikit, seperti : zink, mangan, kuprum, zat besi, selenium, dan chromium.<\/h6>\n<h6>Mineral makro dan mikro umumnya tersedia dalam bentuk anorganik. Sumber mineral anorganik berasal dari batuan tambang yang tersedia dari batuan alam dan berikatan dengan garam sulfat atau oksida. Mineral anorganik relatif lebih murah, namun tingkat penyerepan di dalam tubuh lebih rendah, karena ada ikatan interaksi antagonis antara mineral. Sifat antagonis menyebabkan kompetisi antara mineral dan mengurangi kemampuan mineral tersebut untuk diserap oleh tubuh. Mineral organik memiliki keunggulan yaitu bioavailability yang tinggi karena mudah untuk diserap dalam lumen usus. Selain itu mineral organik juga tidak bersifat antagonis dengan mineral mikro lainnya, sehingga dosis yang digunakan akan lebih tepat dan efisien. Biochem menawarkan organik mineral E.C.O Trace\u00ae, yaitu organik mineral dengan glysin sebagai asam amino chelate-nya.<\/h6>\n<h6>Produk E.C.O Trace\u00ae memiliki mineral mikro zink 25%, besi 20%, mangan 20% dan cuprum 23%. Dengan tingkat konsentrasi mineral yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mineral organik dengan chelate proteinate atau methionin yang rata-rata kon-sentrasinya maksimum 15%. Selain itu, E.C.O Trace\u00ae memiliki bentuk powder dalam bentuk granul sehingga mengurangi terjadinya resiko menggumpal dan larut sem-purna dalam air.<\/h6>\n<h6>E.C.O Trace\u00ae menggunakan kualitas glysin yang terbaik dan rasio ikatan antara glysin dan metal mineral juga merupakan salah satu parameter yang kami perhatikan. Rasio molar glysin dan metal mineral yang baik adalah &gt;1 : 1. Dengan rasio ini akan memberikan bioavailability yang tinggi dan absorbsi lebih sempurna.<\/h6>\n<h6>Hasil trial di tahun 2012 (Grafik 1 dan Grafik 2), E.C.O Trace\u00ae memberikan hasil lebih tinggi pada bioavailability dan kecernaan metal mineral terhadap produk mineral organik lainnya yang di-chelate glysin.
