POULTRYINDONESIA, Kuala Lumpur – Aviagen® has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of the regional poultry industry by supporting the 2026 re-publication of the guidebook titled “Guidebook on the Malaysian Poultry Industry – The Way Forward.” This manual serves as a vital reference for policymakers, academics, and industry players in fostering a focused and sustainable industry development.
The book launch took place during a seminar organized by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) and the Agro-Food Productivity Nexus (AFPN), in collaboration with the Federation of Livestock Farmers’ Associations of Malaysia (FLFAM), on January 22, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by over 100 poultry industry stakeholders, ranging from integrators, farmers, and feed producers to equipment suppliers and government representatives.
Commitment to Transparency and Sustainable Breeding
In line with its support for transparency among stakeholders, Aviagen delivered a virtual presentation titled “Poultry Breeding for Better Performance and Disease Prevention,” presented by Dominic Elfick, Marketing Manager of Aviagen Asia Pacific.
During the session, Aviagen detailed its balanced breeding approach, which emphasizes long-term production performance, livestock health and resilience, and animal welfare. This approach is considered a critical foundation for creating a sustainable poultry production system capable of adapting to various disease challenges.
Furthermore, Aviagen received recognition from the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia as a leading example in the implementation of the compartmentalization system. This system promotes uniform management and biosecurity within production units, enabling the continuity of international trade even in the event of reportable disease outbreaks.
Dr. Keat Fu, Senior Technical Services Veterinarian for Aviagen Asia, who represented the company at the event, noted that the enthusiasm of the attendees was evident through their active interaction with the Aviagen team. According to Dr. Fu, Aviagen’s focus on sustainable performance, welfare-based breeding, and industry collaboration received a positive response from Malaysian poultry stakeholders.
Through its support of this guidebook and active participation in industry forums, Aviagen demonstrates its role as a strategic partner in driving a more productive, resilient, and sustainable Southeast Asian poultry industry.
