POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – De Heus Animal Nutrition has officially completed the acquisition of CJ Feed & Care from CJ CheilJedang. This move marks one of De Heus’s largest expansions in the Asian region. In total, the acquisition involves 17 feed mills and a network of livestock operations spread across various parts of Asia.
With this step, De Heus strengthens its presence in the markets that have served as the business foundations for CJ Feed & Care, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia. Additionally, the Dutch company now gains direct access to South Korea and the Philippines.
In a written statement received by the Poultry Indonesia Team on Wednesday (4/3), Gabor Fluit, CEO of De Heus Animal Nutrition, stated that this acquisition is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.
According to him, the combination of CJ Feed & Care’s technical expertise and De Heus’s over a century of experience in animal nutrition will accelerate growth and create added value for farmers in Asia.
“Our hope is to build a healthy livestock ecosystem; we certainly want to contribute to making affordable animal protein food,” said Gabor.
Meanwhile, Kay De Vreese, President Director of De Heus Indonesia, emphasized that this acquisition reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to developing the animal nutrition sector and the livestock value chain in Indonesia.
