POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPI) held a Ramadan Bazaar on Wednesday (11/3/2026). The event provided various basic necessities, food, and beverages at more affordable prices for the surrounding community.
The organizing committee chairman, Sri Subur Joko Pamungkas, said that the Ramadan Bazaar is a regular program held every year. In 2026, the event carries the theme “Ramadan Bulan Berkah” (Ramadan, the Month of Blessings). Various staple goods were available at the bazaar, including rice, sugar, chicken, and wheat flour. In addition, 44 tenants participated in the event, offering products ranging from banking services, food and beverages, to other household necessities at prices lower than the market rate.
“We hope this year’s Ramadan Bazaar can run smoothly and orderly without any significant obstacles. We also hope this activity can help the community in general, especially residents of Ancol, obtain basic necessities at affordable prices,” said Subur.
Based on observations by Poultry Indonesia, at the bazaar 2.5 kg of rice was priced at Rp25,000, which is cheaper than the market price of around Rp15,000 per kg. Other staples included cooking oil sold at Rp16,000 per liter, sugar at Rp15,000 per kg, and medium-protein flour at Rp9,000 per kg. Rice and cooking oil are the commodities that sell out the fastest every year.
Meanwhile, whole chicken was sold for Rp30,000 after a Rp10,000 voucher discount per participant, while eggs received a Rp5,000 voucher discount per tray, reducing the price from Rp60,000 to Rp55,000.
On the same occasion, Suparman, Independent Commissioner of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk, stated that the Ramadan Bazaar is part of the company’s contribution to the community.
“We hold this bazaar regularly every year ahead of Eid al-Fitr. In this place, CPI was established around 54–55 years ago, and today its activities have reached almost all regions of Indonesia. Social assistance programs like this, including bazaars and other charity initiatives, are also implemented in various regions according to the needs of local communities,” Suparman said when opening the bazaar at CPI’s head office in Ancol.
He explained that CPI operates its business from upstream to downstream, starting from partnerships with smallholder farmers in poultry farming to processing chicken into various food products. He also expressed appreciation to the organizing committee, community members who attended, and banking partners that supported the event.
Meanwhile, Arif Wibowo, Head of Pademangan Subdistrict, appreciated the organization of the bazaar, noting that it benefits the community while also supporting small businesses.
“We appreciate CPI for consistently organizing this bazaar to help residents. Besides CP products, there is also collaboration with various other products,” said Arif.
He added that after the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact is still felt by many small business actors. Therefore, activities such as the Ramadan Bazaar are considered helpful in reviving MSME (UMKM) activities in the community.
Meanwhile, the local neighborhood association head (RW), Aji Asmawan Anwar, welcomed the Ramadan Bazaar as it helps residents obtain basic necessities at more affordable prices. He hopes similar programs will continue in the future with the subsidies needed by the community.
