POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta — The Indonesian Association of Animal Science Student Senates (ISMAPETI), through its Central Executive Board (PB ISMAPETI), has initiated a national humanitarian movement in response to natural disasters affecting several regions in Indonesia. This initiative serves as a moment of consolidated solidarity among animal science students across the country to come together and support affected communities.
The humanitarian movement began with the launch of a National Open Donation campaign addressed to all Student Executive Bodies (BEM) and Animal Science Student Associations under ISMAPETI. Through an official instruction letter, PB ISMAPETI encouraged BEM presidents and association leaders to become the driving force on their respective campuses—mobilizing students and formulating humanitarian action concepts according to local needs. “Humanitarian matters are our shared responsibility. We hope this instruction serves as a reminder that the solidarity of animal science students must remain alive whenever society needs us,” stated PB ISMAPETI in its call to action.
A total of Rp 15,036,765 in donations was collected from all regions. The contribution reflects the collective spirit of PB, regional boards, and animal science students across Indonesia. Beyond fundraising, ISMAPETI also took direct action in the field. Humanitarian activities were carried out simultaneously in eight cities: Medan, Lampung, Bogor, Magelang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Malang.
The aid was then delivered to disaster-affected communities in the following five regions:
-
Tanjung Pura, Langkat – North Sumatra
-
Aceh Tamiang – Aceh Province
-
Pinangsori, Sibolga – North Sumatra
-
Solok – West Sumatra
-
Malang – East Java
Feri Andrian, Head of Social Affairs of PB ISMAPETI, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved. “Thank you to all BEMs, student associations, animal science students, and the general public who donated and participated directly in the field. This proves that our solidarity is still alive and strong,” he said.
Similarly, the Chairman of PB ISMAPETI, M. Syarkhul Muin, emphasized that this initiative is more than a one-time action—it represents the organization’s long-term commitment to humanitarian values. “Our hope is that this humanitarian mission can serve as an example that animal science students do not only contribute within academic spaces but are also present within communities. May this spirit continue and strengthen our contributions to Indonesia,” he asserted.
Through this structured, collaborative, and comprehensive humanitarian action, ISMAPETI once again demonstrates that the role of animal science students extends far beyond the campus—serving the nation, working for humanity, and moving together to support the recovery of communities across Indonesia.
