POULTRYINDONESIA, Serang — The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT), Yandri Susanto, along with the Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, conducted an official visit to the layer farm owned by PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk in Serang. The visit aimed to observe firsthand the readiness of the nutritious food supply chain, specifically eggs, for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
This agenda highlights the active role of the poultry industry in supporting the government’s strategic programs. Furthermore, the visit was intended to ensure the availability of safe, hygienic, and sustainable sources of animal protein.
According to a press release received by Poultry Indonesia on Monday (Feb 9), the delegation inspected layer farm operations and closely examined the production processes for fresh and omega-3 eggs, which are considered high-potential components for the MBG menu.
During the visit, the Minister highlighted the poultry industry’s contribution to village development. He noted that Malindo’s presence in the Serang region has had a tangible impact on the local community, particularly regarding the absorption of local labor.
“We received a report from the Village Head of Sangiang stating that almost all of the workforce comes from the surrounding villages. This means the industry is providing a very positive impact,” the Minister stated.
Beyond social aspects, product quality was also a key focus. The Minister praised the quality of the omega-3 eggs produced by Malindo, noting that they have a distinct taste compared to standard eggs. This prompted him to personally inspect the cultivation systems and production management at the Malindo farm.
“Malindo’s omega eggs are delicious and different from others. That is why I came to the Malindo farm—to see the cultivation process firsthand,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the Minister encouraged the expansion of collaboration between the company and villages across Serang Regency. This synergy is considered vital for developing local potential, strengthening food security, and empowering the village economy.
