POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – The IDR 20 trillion integrated poultry downstreaming program prepared by Danantara Investment Management Agency is set to be implemented soon.

Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman explained that the development of integrated poultry downstreaming—covering feed mills, PS and GPS breeding units, poultry slaughterhouses (RPHU), cold storage facilities, and processing plants—will be carried out in two phases.

The first phase will cover 12 provinces, while the second phase will be expanded to 18 provinces across various regions in Indonesia. The program is scheduled to be officially launched at the end of January 2026, marked by a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony on January 28, 2026, to be held in 12 provinces.

Speaking during a poultry sector gathering based on materials presented by the Director General of Livestock and Animal Health Services (PKH) on Saturday (November 22, 2025), Amran expressed hope that the initial phase of the program would proceed smoothly so that its benefits can be felt immediately by the public, particularly small-scale farmers.

“January 28, God willing. Please pray for the groundbreaking. This is good news. Once again, this is being built for small farmers, to support and strengthen small-scale poultry producers,” Amran said during the Press Conference of the Coordination Meeting on Securing and Stabilizing Food Supply and Prices at the Ministry of Agriculture office in Jakarta, Thursday (January 22).

This initiative is expected to serve as a long-term solution to maintain balance between production and prices, while also reaffirming the state’s presence in protecting strategic food sectors.
