POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta — PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI) Tbk, as a partner of the Ministry of Agriculture in the fields of Livestock and Animal Health, once again demonstrated its humanitarian commitment. CPI contributed aid for victims of floods and landslides through the program “Ministry of Agriculture Cares for Flood Disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra & West Sumatra.”
The aid dispatch ceremony was led directly by the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, on Thursday (4/12) at the courtyard of Building F, Ministry of Agriculture Office, South Jakarta. On that occasion, Amran expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry’s partners who promptly participated in supporting disaster response efforts.
“I am touched to see everyone united in helping the people on the ground. This solidarity means a lot to our brothers and sisters affected in Sumatra,” he said.
CPI’s total assistance amounted to Rp 4.1 billion, consisting of cash donations and ready-to-eat food products. CPI distributed ready-to-eat sausage products worth Rp 1.1 billion, or a total of 60,000 jars, along with additional assistance in the form of bottled drinking water, instant noodles, milk, and chicken eggs. Specifically for North Sumatra and West Sumatra, each region received logistics assistance valued at Rp 100 million.
Suparman, the Independent Commissioner who attended the dispatch ceremony, stated that this support reflects the company’s solidarity with affected communities.
“We realize that this assistance will not solve everything, but we hope it can ease the burden on the community and support faster recovery efforts on the ground,” he said.
Of the 207 trucks deployed, CPI sent 20 trucks carrying sausages worth Rp 1.1 billion, which will be transported by sea.
Suparman also expressed hope that the disaster impacting Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra can be addressed swiftly. The assistance is expected to alleviate the burden on communities and help meet food and essential logistical needs at evacuation sites.
In distributing the aid, the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners coordinated with the Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) and the Chief of Air Force Staff (KSAU) to expedite logistics transport to the disaster areas.
A number of essential supplies had already been shipped earlier, including 500 tons of rice, and additional supplies sent today include:

1,780 boxes of mineral water

2,480 boxes of mixed essential goods containing sardines, coffee, sanitary pads, instant noodles, and eggs
A total of 207 trucks worth Rp 38.4 billion were deployed for aid distribution:
