POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO ECTAD Indonesia) along with Directorate of Veterinary Public Health (Ditkesmavet) held an online workshop about ‘Socialisation of Regulation of The Minister of Agriculture (Permentan) no 11/2020 for Poultry Farm’ through Zoom application, on Friday (11/7).
This socialisation was held based on the request of the Pinsar National Layers Association. Participants who attended this online socialisation came from the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service from 9 provinces, poultry farmers, associations, and National Veterinary Certification (NKV) auditors.
 Luuk Schoonman as Chief Technical Advisor FAO ECTAD Indonesia said that this year, FAO ECTAD cooperating with the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health (Ditjen PKH), the Ministry of Agriculture has a program to improve poultry health for the next four years.

“This program aims to improve productivity, decrease the incidences of disease, and to boost the quality of poultry products in Indonesia in order to embody food safety and food security,” said Schoonman.
Schoonman hoped that with this collaboration program, it will reduce the use of antimicrobial drugs in the poultry farm, as well as to support the control of antimicrobial resistance in livestock and animal health sector.
 Meanwhile, drh. Syamsul Ma’arif, M.Si as a Director of Ditkesmavet said that NKV already existed since 2005, however, at the time of socialisation, there were some people who thought the NKV was just implemented.
“Now maybe they already realised that NKV is a crucial aspect. We, as a government eager to protect our society to undergo their business to be safe and conducive.” He said. Esti
