POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – The Ministry of Agriculture continually to give maximum effort to stabilize the availability of staple food in COVID-19 pandemic situation, which based on Presidential Decree No. 11 of 2020 has been determined as a public health emergency.
“According to our minister of agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, this is one of our top priorities in the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) Including Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health (Ditjen PKH).” Said I Ketut Diarmita, Director General of Ditjen PKH, at Kementan, in Jakarta, Friday (10/4).
Furthermore, Ketut also conveys that in the emergency response endeavour, maximum support needed for laboratories to quickly and accurately diagnose samples of COVID-19.

Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health stated that veterinary laboratories are ready if we need them to help to check COVID-19 samples. “the Ministry of Agriculture through technical implementation unit (UPT) veterinary laboratories are ready if they needed.”
He said that veterinary laboratories connection already implemented bio-risk management (biosafety and biosecurity) which aims to protect animal health workers and laboratory technicians from disease agents that may infect during testing.
