POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – Entering early of 2020, poultry farmers, government, and integrators are held discussion with theme ‘National Poultry Conference’ in Kecapi Room No 7, Santika Hotel, East Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1). This meetings intended to fix poultry industry condition in Indonesia recently. Mukhlis, as farmer from Bandung said that on late January, live bird price is below production cost, about Rp12.500-12.000/kg for 0.8-1 kg live bird in some area of west Java such as Subang and Ciamis.

Responding to over supply that continually happened in Indonesia, Sugiono as Director of Animal Breeding and Production, Ministry of Agriculture said that every poultry businessmen expected to export their products in accordance to Minister of Agriculture latest program called ‘Gratieks’. This export movement hopefully will alleviate the over-supply condition. “This export program expected to prevent excess of live bird supply in the field.” Sugiono also said that Ministry of Agriculture will facilitate farmers to export their poultry product.

Achmad Dawami as representative of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk, give an advice based on his opinion to repair recent condition, for instance with CSR program which use frozen chicken in order to empty cold storage in every poultry slaughter house company. However, this advice constrained by Regulation of Ministry of Agriculture (Permentan) which banned to sell hatching egg (HE). Dawami added that selling the HE will not affect so much on commercial egg in the market, because it only 1,14% of total egg production in Indonesia. Esti
