POULTRYINDONESIA, SEMARANG – The Jateng Livestock Fest 2026 was not only filled with activities related to livestock development. Students from various schools across Central Java also took part in the Creative Bento Challenge in collaboration with Fiesta.
The cooking competition was one of the activities designed to introduce students to animal-based protein foods and encourage them to transform these ingredients into more creative dishes. Participants were challenged to create bento creations by combining ideas, food preparation skills, and attractive presentation.
The event was part of the Jateng Livestock Fest 2026 series, held in commemoration of the 190th Livestock and Animal Health Service Month. The festival featured various activities, ranging from the Quality Livestock Products Market Exhibition and the Milk Drinking Movement (Gerimis) to the distribution of chicken, milk, and egg packages to the public.
Amid the series of events, the Creative Bento Challenge with Fiesta provided students with an opportunity to transform animal-based protein into dishes with appealing shapes and presentations.
Participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the involvement of several schools from different regions across Central Java. Each team brought its own ideas to create unique bento dishes, which were then evaluated in the competition.
Sherian Aprilia Pramesti and Marissa Triasnugraeni from SMK Negeri 1 Bawen emerged as the winners. The two students admitted they were quite surprised by the result, as they had not expected to win from the beginning.
“We did not expect to win. Thank you to Fiesta for organizing this event. We hope activities like this will continue to provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in creating attractive protein-based food products,” said Sherian and Marissa.
