POULTRYINDONESIA, SEMARANG – The Jateng Livestock Fest 2026 was not only filled with activities related to livestock development. Students from various schools across Central Java also took part in the Creative Bento Challenge in collaboration with Fiesta.
The cooking competition was one of the activities designed to introduce students to animal-based protein foods and encourage them to transform these ingredients into more creative dishes. Participants were challenged to create bento creations by combining ideas, food preparation skills, and attractive presentation.
The event was part of the Jateng Livestock Fest 2026 series, held in commemoration of the 190th Livestock and Animal Health Service Month. The festival featured various activities, ranging from the Quality Livestock Products Market Exhibition and the Milk Drinking Movement (Gerimis) to the distribution of chicken, milk, and egg packages to the public.
Amid the series of events, the Creative Bento Challenge with Fiesta provided students with an opportunity to transform animal-based protein into dishes with appealing shapes and presentations.
Participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the involvement of several schools from different regions across Central Java. Each team brought its own ideas to create unique bento dishes, which were then evaluated in the competition.
Sherian Aprilia Pramesti and Marissa Triasnugraeni from SMK Negeri 1 Bawen emerged as the winners. The two students admitted they were quite surprised by the result, as they had not expected to win from the beginning.

“We did not expect to win. Thank you to Fiesta for organizing this event. We hope activities like this will continue to provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in creating attractive protein-based food products,” said Sherian and Marissa.

For both students, participating in the competition was a valuable experience. Beyond competing, they had the opportunity to develop ideas and learn how to transform food ingredients into dishes with added value in terms of presentation and creativity.
The Creative Bento Challenge also reinforced the message promoted by Jateng Livestock Fest 2026 regarding the importance of animal-based protein for the community. Through the series of activities, the Central Java Provincial Government also encouraged increased production and consumption of livestock-based food products.
One of the key areas receiving attention was dairy development. At Jateng Livestock Fest 2026, the Central Java Provincial Government launched Gerbang Susu Jawa Tengah (the Central Java Dairy Development Movement) and promoted the development of dairy cattle production centers in several regions.
By involving students, the message about the importance of animal-based protein could be delivered through a lighter and more engaging approach. For Fiesta, activities like this also provide an opportunity to introduce its products and showcase the many possibilities for food creativity to younger generations.
The competition also presented a Favorite Winner Award to participants from Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Central Java Agriculture and Livestock Service (Distannak). The participation of DWP Distannak added a distinctive touch to the competition, demonstrating that the spirit of creativity through protein-based food extends beyond the student community.
The Creative Bento Challenge was more than just a cooking competition. Through the activity, students gained experience in creating dishes using protein-based foods while learning that nutritious meals can also be presented in attractive and creative ways.
