More than just an exhibition, Indo Livestock 2026 reaffirmed that collaboration, innovation, and investment are the key foundations for advancing Indonesia’s livestock industry and enhancing its global competitiveness.
The conclusion of Indo Livestock Expo & Forum 2026 once again highlighted Indonesia’s position as one of the largest international meeting hubs for the livestock industry. Held over three days from June 16–18, 2026, at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang, the event took place alongside Indo Feed, Indo Dairy, Indo Agrotech, Indo Vet, and Indo Fisheries 2026.
Approximately 600 companies from 30 countries, along with seven international pavilions representing China, Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam, showcased a wide range of products, technologies, and innovations for the livestock and animal health sectors. Tens of thousands of business professionals, academics, government representatives, and industry stakeholders attended the exhibition to establish partnerships, exchange knowledge, and explore the latest technological developments.
The exhibition was officially opened on the second day, Wednesday (June 17), by Agung Suganda, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health Services, representing the Minister of Agriculture. In his remarks, he emphasized that Indo Livestock has evolved far beyond its original role as a trade exhibition.
“Indo Livestock serves as an instrument of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy, bringing together governments, investors, academics, and business players from various countries in a single forum to accelerate investment, facilitate technology transfer, and strengthen the competitiveness of the national livestock industry,” he stated.
Agung noted that Indonesia’s livestock sector is currently experiencing a positive growth phase. The livestock subsector recorded growth of 11.84 percent, which he described as the highest achievement in the past 25 years. Meanwhile, exports of livestock products have continued to increase, reflecting growing international confidence in Indonesian animal-based products.
For the poultry sector in particular, Agung believes that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has had a positive impact on increasing demand for animal protein, especially chicken meat and eggs. This situation has helped create market stability while also opening new investment opportunities within the national poultry industry.
As a result, the role of international events such as Indo Livestock has become increasingly important, especially as demand for animal protein continues to rise. Amid growing challenges related to production efficiency, sustainability, and access to global markets, livestock development can no longer focus solely on increasing production. It must also be supported by investment, technological innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
On the same occasion, Aryaseta Wiriadipura, Managing Director of PT Napindo Media Ashatama, stated that Indo Livestock has evolved into a collaborative platform for all stakeholders within the livestock sector. According to him, the exhibition not only showcases the latest innovations and technologies but also serves as a forum for exchanging ideas to drive industry advancement.
This year marked the first time Indo Livestock was held at its new venue, NICE, PIK 2. In addition, Napindo introduced several new programs, including livestock competitions conducted indoors for the first time and a collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture through the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health Services (DGLAHS) as co-host of the event.
“For the first time in history, the Garut Sheep Fighting Art and Performance Competition was held indoors as part of the Indo Livestock Grand Championship (ILGC) 2026. This is not merely a change of venue, but a significant step toward presenting smallholder livestock farming and Indonesia’s livestock culture in a more modern and professional manner while introducing them to a broader national and international audience,” he explained.
