POULTRYINDONESIA, Sukabumi – Expanding by opening a new operational unit amid a volatile business environment is a decision that is not widely taken by poultry industry players. Instability in live bird prices, fluctuations in production costs, and the slowdown of the global economy have led many companies to postpone expansion plans and focus instead on maintaining the sustainability of their existing operations.
However, these challenges have not slowed down the steps taken by PT Naga Tobing Karya (NTK). The poultry company has instead taken a strategic move by officially inaugurating its fourth operational unit, covering the Sukabumi and Cianjur (Suci) areas, on Wednesday (8/7/2026). The inauguration of the new unit was held in Sundawenang Village, Parungkuda District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, and was attended by the company’s management team, poultry supply vendors, business partners, and all NTK operational teams.
PT NTK Co-CEO, Ading Nurjaman, stated that the establishment of the Sukabumi-Cianjur Unit reflects the company’s optimism toward the future of Indonesia’s poultry industry.

“Amid the current condition of the industry, we must remain optimistic that Indonesia’s poultry sector will continue to improve in the future. The consumption of animal protein among Indonesian people is still relatively low, meaning the opportunity for industry growth remains very large. However, every expansion step we take is certainly based on careful calculations and thorough consideration,” he said in his speech.

According to Ading, companies should not simply wait for conditions to improve but must be able to adapt to changing circumstances in the field.

“Companies must follow existing conditions, not expect conditions to follow the company. Therefore, every decision we make is always based on calculations, analysis, and integrity in running the business,” he explained.

He added that amid global economic pressures affecting the poultry sector and other industries, simply being able to survive is already an achievement in itself. Nevertheless, NTK has chosen to continue moving forward through various innovations and business breakthroughs.
This optimism is demonstrated not only through the opening of new branches but also through expansion into the upstream sector. In the near future, NTK plans to develop a poultry breeding business by establishing a breeding unit in Ciamis, West Java.

“Alhamdulillah, we currently already have several Parent Stock populations, although the numbers are still not large. God willing, production will begin in November,” Ading revealed.

Furthermore, he asked for prayers and support from all feed companies, animal health companies, and poultry supply partners that have been part of NTK’s journey.

“Our hope is that the growth of this company can also bring benefits to all partners who have supported NTK’s journey. When NTK grows, that success should also be felt together, including in terms of welfare, payment reliability, and other positive aspects,” he added.

On the same occasion, PT NTK Production General Manager, Dimas Agung Sugiharto, expressed his gratitude for the company’s rapid development within a relatively short period.

“Currently, we have three operational units, namely West Bogor, Tangerang, and East Bogor. With the opening of the Sukabumi-Cianjur Unit, this becomes our fourth operational unit. Going forward, God willing, we will also open another unit in the Kuningan area,” he said.

According to Dimas, opening a new unit is not merely an expansion of operational coverage but also part of the company’s strategy to strengthen partnership networks and gradually increase business capacity.
He also expressed appreciation to all vendors and business partners who have supported the company’s growth, ranging from breeding companies, feed suppliers, to animal health providers.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all vendors for the cooperation, support, and trust that have been provided throughout this journey. We also ask for prayers and support so that every branch can operate smoothly, continue to grow, and provide benefits for all parties involved,” Dimas said.

Meanwhile, NTK Sukabumi-Cianjur Branch Head, Eri, expressed his appreciation to the company’s management for entrusting him with leading the operations of the new unit.

“I would like to thank the leadership of PT Naga Tobing Karya for giving me the trust to lead the operations of the NTK Sukabumi-Cianjur Branch. Of course, this responsibility will be carried out as well as possible together with the entire team in the field,” he said.

Eri also requested support and goodwill from all vendors and business partners so that the Sukabumi-Cianjur Unit can continue to grow and provide positive contributions to the company and all parties involved.

“We hope that the cooperation that has been well established so far can continue to be improved. Hopefully, the Sukabumi-Cianjur team can operate smoothly, provide benefits for everyone, and become part of PT NTK’s future growth,” he added.

He emphasized that internal team solidarity and support from business partners will be important assets in developing the new unit so that it can grow into one of the company’s key branches in the future.
NTK’s expansion move also demonstrates that amid a challenging industry cycle, there are still business players who see positive long-term opportunities in Indonesia’s national poultry sector.
With Indonesia’s animal protein consumption level still below that of several neighboring countries, the growth potential of the national poultry industry remains wide open. For NTK, this momentum has become a reason to continue strengthening its business foundation and expanding its network gradually and in a measurable manner.
