POULTRYINDONESIA, Sumedang – In commemorating the 43rd Anniversary of the Indonesian Association of Animal Husbandry Student Senates (ISMAPETI), animal husbandry students from various universities across Indonesia organized the Indonesian Animal Husbandry Student Community Service Program (BAMPINAS) in Citali Village, Pamulihan District, Sumedang Regency, on Wednesday (November 4, 2026).
Carrying the theme “Nutrition Action,” the program served as a form of community engagement through food education, the introduction of innovative processed livestock products, and the utilization of local food resources. It also aimed to strengthen collaboration among animal husbandry students while fostering closer relationships with the local community.
In his remarks, Lutpi, Project Officer of BAMPINAS, emphasized that students should not merely understand the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) conceptually but should also be able to put them into practice through direct involvement in the community.
“Beyond acquiring knowledge in the classroom, students need to engage directly in the field to understand the actual social conditions of communities, identify the various challenges they face, and contribute through the knowledge and skills they possess.”
Meanwhile, Ersyad Oktavian Ramadhan, Chairman of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Universitas Padjadjaran, highlighted the importance of revitalizing the spirit of solidarity and collaboration in community service activities. He emphasized that Citali Village provided a shared learning environment for animal husbandry students from universities across Indonesia.
“Through this program, students are expected to exchange knowledge, introduce innovations in the animal husbandry sector, and gain new experiences that can benefit the community,” he explained.
On the same occasion, Asra Rizqolla, Chairman of the ISMAPETI Central Executive Board, stressed that community service activities provide students with valuable opportunities to learn directly from the community. He also reminded students of their responsibility to prepare themselves to contribute to national development.
“Experiences of interacting with and serving communities like this can equip students with valuable insights when they eventually take on leadership roles in various sectors, whether at the village, regency, or provincial level.”
Representing the local government, Citali Village Secretary Nenden expressed her appreciation for the initiative. She hoped that the students’ presence would bring benefits, knowledge, and new experiences to the community. The village administration also hoped that the program would provide opportunities for local youth to grow and develop.
In addition to community service activities, the program also featured a digital marketing workshop delivered by Dr. Hasni Arief, S.P., M.P., a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran.
“The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to today’s marketing systems and buying and selling transactions. Various digital platforms, such as TikTok, Facebook, Tokopedia, and Shopee, can now be utilized to expand product marketing reach,” she explained.
Furthermore, she introduced the marketing mix concept, which consists of four key elements: product, price, promotion, and place (distribution). She also emphasized the importance of livestock business operators adapting to changing consumer characteristics across generations, from Generation X and Millennials to Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
