POULTRYINDONESIA, Yogyakarta – PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CP Food Division), through its Fiesta brand, once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting public nutrition by organizing Fiesta Cooking Fest 2026, a cooking competition for PKK Women’s Empowerment Teams and senior high/vocational school students in commemoration of National Children’s Day. The event, held at Yogyakarta City Hall on Sunday (July 26), served as an important educational platform to promote the consumption of animal protein while encouraging creativity in preparing nutritious food.
The event was officially opened by Yogyakarta Mayor Dr. (H.C.) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG (K), accompanied by Head of the Yogyakarta City PKK Team dr. Dwi Kriswoto Setyawireni, Chairman of the Yogyakarta branch of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI DIY) Hudono, and the management of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Food Division. Also present was Chef Hendro Purwanto, Chairman of the Central Java Chefs Association, who served as a judge and conducted a cooking demonstration for participants.
This activity was the result of collaboration between CP Food Division, the Yogyakarta City Government, PWI DIY, the PKK Team, and the Indonesian Early Childhood Educators and Education Personnel Association (HIMPAUDI). The participation of early childhood students and their teachers added to the festive atmosphere through various performances, reinforcing the message that nutrition fulfillment and education must begin from an early age. The Chairman of PWI DIY appreciated HIMPAUDI’s support in mobilizing children to participate, making the event even more lively.
In his remarks, Hasto Wardoyo emphasized that the cooking competition was not merely a contest, but also an educational medium on the importance of balanced nutrition to support child growth and reduce stunting. He stressed that animal protein sources such as fish, eggs, and meat play a crucial role in supporting both physical growth and brain development, especially during the first 1,000 days of life.
The educational atmosphere became even more engaging when the Mayor interacted directly with one of the participants about the benefits of eggs and fish for children’s growth and development. The discussion highlighted the role of high-quality protein, DHA, and omega-3 fatty acids in supporting intelligence and optimal growth. The message served as a reminder that providing nutritious meals at the family level is a concrete step toward creating a healthy and high-quality generation.
PWI DIY Chairman Hudono stated that public enthusiasm for Fiesta Cooking Fest was very high. A total of 76 teams participated, consisting of 50 PKK teams and 26 senior high/vocational school teams. The strong interest even forced the committee to close registration early because the quota had been filled. According to him, the event is an example of positive synergy between the media, government, and private sector in presenting programs that benefit the community.
In the competition, participants were challenged to create creative, attractive, and nutritious dishes using Fiesta products such as Fiesta Crispy Bubble and Fiesta Karage. The judging criteria included creativity, composition of the main product, cleanliness, and presentation. As inspiration, Chef Hendro Purwanto also demonstrated the preparation of Spaghetti Cheese Ball and Nasi Godog Karage, combining processed chicken products with local flavors.
Through Fiesta Cooking Fest 2026, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia hopes to continue increasing public awareness of the importance of consuming animal protein as part of a balanced nutritious diet. Collaboration with the government, community organizations, the media, and educational institutions is expected to broaden nutrition education so that more Indonesian families adopt healthy eating habits in support of realizing Indonesia’s Golden Generation.
