POULTRYINDONESIA, Jakarta – The Gabungan Perusahaan Pembibitan Unggas (GPPU) held a Halal Bi Halal gathering at Aloft South Jakarta Hotel, TB Simatupang, on Wednesday (April 15). The event served as an important momentum to strengthen ties among industry players while reinforcing consolidation in facing the dynamics of Indonesia’s poultry sector.
The event was attended by GPPU members, business players, and relevant stakeholders. In addition to being a moment of mutual forgiveness in the spirit of Eid al-Fitr, it also functioned as a strategic discussion forum on the latest industry developments.
In his remarks, GPPU Chairman, Achmad Dawami, emphasized that Halal Bi Halal is not merely an annual tradition, but a meaningful opportunity to mend relationships and strengthen the value of togetherness.
He explained that the essence of Eid al-Fitr reflects a return to truth and virtue. The philosophy of ketupat in Javanese tradition was also highlighted as a symbol of self-reflection—encompassing the acknowledgment of mistakes, openness to forgiveness, and the spirit of sharing and cleansing the heart.
“This momentum is an opportunity for all of us to forgive one another and start anew with a better spirit, both in personal and professional relationships,” he stated.
Highlighting Industry Dynamics and Outlook
During the event, GPPU also presented the latest developments in the national poultry industry. Key strategic issues discussed included fluctuations in Day Old Chick (DOC) prices, challenges in maintaining market stability, and the importance of careful business planning.
Achmad Dawami noted that the industry outlook for 2026 is projected to improve compared to the previous year, although it remains influenced by various external and internal factors.
He stressed that every decision made today will impact the future condition of the industry, underscoring the need for synergy and shared awareness among business players.
Preparation for the 2026 GPPU Congress
The event also introduced plans for the GPPU Congress, scheduled to take place in July 2026. The congress will serve as an important forum to gather members’ aspirations, formulate organizational policies, and strengthen the direction of future industry development.
All members are encouraged to actively participate by contributing constructive ideas and input as part of a collective effort to build a stronger and more sustainable industry.
Through this Halal Bi Halal gathering, GPPU reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration and solidarity among poultry industry stakeholders. With the spirit of togetherness and the values of Eid al-Fitr, all stakeholders are expected to face future challenges with greater unity and optimism.
